In this role, you will address business problems that are ill defined and shifting where factors affecting the problem are not completely understood. You will be expert in analysis, visualisation and algorithmic / mathematical computations that extract insights from data in response to these business problems, questioning and hypothesising using the data available from our customers.

What you will be doing
You will extract, analyse and interpret data from a range of sources, using the latest data mining, artificial intelligence, machine learning and statistical tools and technologies.
  • Working with state-of-the-art tools and technologies, you will develop and deliver data driven solutions to address business and engineering challenges
  • You will translate technical details, observations and results into business language and effectively communicate to the business and customers
  • You will contribute to the development and implementation of reusable and modular data science and machine learning capability
  • You will assess future trends, the impact of the latest technology trends on development of next generation data services and develop demonstrators and beta service offerings.
Who we are looking for

  • Degree level education or higher in Mathematics, Scientific Computing or Engineering discipline
  • Experienced coding in Python and ideally in the use of current analytical / big data technologies such as Azure Machine Learning, Stream Analytics, Data Factories, Databricks, etc; cloud technology experience (ideally Microsoft Azure)
  • Proactive, persistent, customer-focused skilled communicator with a high level of self-motivation, initiative and able to both stand-alone and also to engage with colleagues, customers and stakeholders.
  • Some experience of business Intelligence and visualisation tools such as PowerBI or Tableau.
  • Experience of using DevOps to follow continuous integration and continuous deployment practices and appreciation or practical experience with MLOps is highly desirable.
